Fundraising for the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation
My name is Mayank. I lost my mother to cholangiocarcinoma in 2026. In her honour, I'm taking on ten of the hardest challenges I've ever done, for the people still fighting the hardest battle of their lives. This is one of the most underfunded cancers you've never heard of. Help me change that.
Sunita Sanghavi
Beloved mother, wife, and friend · Always in our heartsAbout This Campaign
My mom, Sunita, was one of the most extraordinary human beings I have ever known. She was strong in ways most people never have to be. Brave in ways that took your breath away. And through everything she went through over the past 10 months, every scan, every treatment, every difficult day, she remained the most brave, selfless, kind, and considerate person.
Her warmth was effortless. Her love was boundless. She touched the lives of everyone she met, leaving every soul she encountered a little brighter, a little kinder, a little more hopeful for having known her. She gave herself to others without ever asking for anything in return.
In July 2025, she was diagnosed with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (IHCC) which is a rare and devastating form of bile duct cancer. Within a short span of just ten months, she passed away. It is a cruel, underfunded disease that too many families are navigating in the dark, without enough answers, and without enough hope.
This is why I am taking on 10 gruelling challenges, one for every month she fought, in her honour. She deserved more time. Other families deserve better answers. Please help me change that.
My first fundraising target milestone is not a round number but rather it is a deeply personal one. My mom lived for 22,001 days. Every pound represents one of those days. Every day she was loved. Every day she made a difference. Every day the world was better for having her in it.

The Impact So Far
The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is one of the six Abbott World Marathon Majors, a race that draws 55,000 runners through 29 neighbourhoods of one of the world's greatest cities, cheered on by 1.7 million spectators lining the streets.
On October 11, 2026, I'll be lining up on the start line in Grant Park and running every one of those 26.2 miles in honour of the patients, families, and researchers fighting cholangiocarcinoma every day.
I should be honest with all of you that I am not a runner. This will be my first marathon. I've had ACL reconstruction and a torn meniscus, so this first challenge is going to be a tough one.
